The Highland Witch

 Deep in the hills of Marion County WV there is a small church and cemetery known as the Highland Church. Finding this place is difficult to say the least but once you find it you can see why all the tales of it's existence are spooky. This place sits way back in the woods out a dirt road and on top of a mountain. Inside the cemetery is the grave of a witch. The Highland Witch. Visiting The Grave of a Witch naked Rhonda Ward, The sinking abyss of Bridgeport WV

 Rhoda Ward was a Bridgeport WV native and a member of the Simpson Creek Baptist Church. Rhodas mom was in a feud with another family from the church and Rhoda seemed to have taken the blame for this feud. Rhoda was accused of witchcraft and was tried in 1787 by the very church in which she belonged. At the time Rhoda was suffering from chickenpox as well as a fever. This could've led to the accusations of witchcraft or being possessed by an evil spirit due extreme behavior. Rhoda was ultimately found innocent and was allowed to continue attending church. 12 years later she was again accused of being a witch. Some legends say she was found guilty and hung while others claim she was once again found innocent. We do know that her body was buried outside a cemetery in an unmarked grave because witches couldn't be buried in hallowed ground. Maybe that tells more of the story?

Rhodas grave kept sinking more and more. The soil placed in the grave disappeared into a sinking abyss. Eventually the workers had to fill her grave with cement to keep it from sinking. It was like Rhoda didn't want to be buried at all. 

Other than the sinking grave, an unmarked grave outside of hallowed ground we do have more of the legend to go on. In 1970 a tornado touched down in Bridgeport and destroyed a lot of the city even damaging the church that tried Rhoda for witchcraft but stopped just short of her grave. Another event that has taken place is the cemetery office clock hands spin around and around stopping on the exact time that it is.

Is Bigfoot Real

 History has a ton of cryptid sightings and many many monsters. There are monsters like the Mothman, Flatwoods Monster, Loch Ness Monster and others, but none are more famous than Bigfoot. Known as the Yeti, Sasquatch, Skunk Ape, Man of the Mountains and others, this monster roams the land of many locations. We visit the Bigfoot Museum to see if we can find proof of the existence of this legendary monster. Check out the video and see if you can come to a conclusion yourself. There are many castings and even a hair sample to check out. We also visited the Museums gift. shop to buy some souvenirs. 

Return to the Flenderation Tunnel

In this video we revisit the Flinderation Tunnel. We caught many EVPs and that was wild. We also helped a stranger get through the tunnel. 

 

Mothman Festival 2026

We went all the way to Point Pleasant WV for the Mothman Festival. It was a long drive but totally worth it. We had a great time. We walked the Main Street, seen the statue, went to the museum and checked out the vendors. We even read the plaque on the wall surrounding the city and located where the bridge used to be. It was a very eventful day. The problem we ran into was waiting for the museum. It was super hot and we had to wait for 2 hours to get in. After we bought some water for sure. All in all though we had a great time and I would recommend going to the festival next year for sure. 

 

Flatwoods Monster Museum

 On September 12, 1952 a group of kids playing in Flatwoods WV saw a red light shoot across the nighttime sky. The light appeared to stop on a hilltop nearby. The kids ran home to tell their mother what they saw. In a panic of what it may be she called a friend who happened to be a WV National Guardsman. When the friend arrived they went to the hill where the children claim the light landed. Upon arriving they saw a 10 to 15 foot tall man in a metallic dress with red eyes and a spade shaped head standing in front of them. The creature moved closer to them and sprayed a mist that made them dizzy and hard of breathing. This creature was later named the Flatwoods Monster. In this video we visit the Monster Museum in Sutton WV to check out the local lore. 

Barbour County Fair

 We took a trip to Belington West Virginia and visited the Barbour County Fair. It was a good time. We rode the Hurricane. It was a fun ride. The Barbour County Fair is always a good time for families  The problem is that since Covid the fair venders haven’t returned  I remember when the fair was full of venders  Now they are lucky to have a few setup.
